Who will take care of my children?

MOPPETS is the childcare program provided by this ministry.  The children are divided into age groups.  Infants, toddlers and preschoolers will enjoy free playtime, snacks, songs and crafts.

Why is MOPS limited to mothers of Preschoolers?

MOPS International believes strongly that the needs of this group of mothers is unique and deserves specific attention. The “preschool years” are a phase of life. The challenges encountered during this phase can be greatly assisted through a community of women in the same phase. Mothers of older children often have more freedom to enjoy a variety of well-developed programs. MOPS meets the specified needs of mothers of children in the preschool years.

Do I have to be a member of this church?

No. We are here to nurture every mother of preschoolers by meeting her distinct needs. We are accepting of every mother, no matter where she has been, as we believe that God loves us and accepts us where we are, no matter what. We embrace different denominations, both believer and non-believers, and all ethnic groups.

How do I get involved?

This MOPS groups is for you and can only be as great as you make. We have several areas in which to get involved: Hospitality, MOPPETS (as a team member, not a worker!), Creative Activities, Publicity, Discussion Group Leader and other Steering Team positions. Find your area of expertise or an area you would like to grow in and GO FOR IT!

I am a nursing mom. Can I have my baby with me during the MOPS mornings?

We respect the needs of moms to be with their children and feel that infants up to 6 month old may remain with their moms. However, after that we stress the importance of leaving children in the MOPPETS program. If you are nursing, you are welcome to go feed your baby and return to the group. We ask that you respect other mothers in the MOPS program who have come here for adult activities and conversation. When babies or children are present, no matter how sweet, well natured or perfect they may be, they are still a distraction to the rest of the group. Our MOPPETS program is the best place for your child.

I have a home-based business. Would it be possible to make a presentation, provide buying opportunities or in general make my services known and available to others moms?

No. Opening the door to any type of personal selling within the meeting runs the risk of changing the dynamics of MOPS. MOPS is a safe, accepting, and caring place for moms to come, where they can be encouraged and refreshed. It is not a place where women should feel the pressure to purchase.

Who will have my name and personal information and who will it be given out to?

The MOPS coordinator keeps all records. She will give basic information to the Discussion Group Leaders, so they will know each individual better. The information you give to SCMOPS will not be given to the church for any reason. The church will probably be interested in how many women attend, how many children attend and how many women that are members of MOPS are not members of a church. Only numbers will be given—not names.

What is the Snow Policy?

The snow policy is determined by the Scott County (TN) School District. If you have any questions, contact the MOPS Coordinator. We will try our best to reschedule our missed meetings.

We hope your time here is beneficial to your growth as a mother of a preschooler!

Should you have any more questions that are not answered here, please contact the MOPS Coordinator.
